Diamondback and NW School of Freeride

We are very excited to be part of a new movement in BMX get-a-ways. The NW School of Freeride! Based just shy of Mt Hood Oregon, the NWSOF is launching a series of BMX and Mountain Bike camps for summer of 2009. For the last 20 years, Woodward has had the monopoly on Summer Bike Camps, but those days are over! The NW School of Freeride is offering up a whole different program to give some choices to the everyday ripper. For starters, it is located about an hour from Portland OR, so NW kids can afford the travel. It also is located on 80 acres of private forest. It is deep woods style. Its got tons of cement jibbery and urban styled terrain with an abundance of dirt trails to choose from. They also have a 14000 square foot indoor park! Our very own Diamondback Pro Robbie Wright has been signed on as the head BMX coach!

Company Background:

Wow? I am not sure what we should say here? We make BMX bikes. We got some pretty sicko team riders for a medium sized bike company without tons of loot or sell outs. We have been around since 1978. Since then we have added a whole line of bikes to service the style of every bike ripper out there. Check out our new GOAT, mtn slopestyle bike, it is unreal! All the info you could ever want is available at our website. You should head over there and take a look. www.diamondback.com

When we brought the original ScapeGOAT to the 2007 Interbike tradeshow, we brought it only to be ogled over and to show the world another one of the many ways the revolutionary Knuckle Box suspension platform could be put to good use to create great times. We knew the bike would be a show-stopper, but we honestly didn’t expect the herds of onlookers who quickly gathered around it to take a look. The bike that was developed originally to be a prototype used to test the limits of the Mission frame quickly went from serving that purpose to becoming a concept bike, to becoming a limited edition. For 2009, we decided that everyone ought to have a chance to not only look at the ScapeGOAT, but get in line for one. Like the original, the 2009 model will be made available, but only in very limited quantities.

The ScapeGOAT is an aggressive all-mountain / park bike that uses the Mission-proven frame design with 6 inches of travel in the rear and 160mm in the front compliments of the Fox 36 Float RC2 fork. The ScapeGOAT’s frame is essentially a Mission frame, but with a more robust straight gauge down tube for added strength, a 1.5″ head tube, and an ISCG chain guide mount. The list of parts that make up the ScapeGOAT looks like something you’d jot down soon after you found out you’d just won the lottery, but fortunately for you, your friends at Diamondback put them into a package and made it surprisingly affordable.
