How much is too much protection? For me, never enough! As the years pass and the crashes come and go, the protection varies from year to year. I wore a chest protector for a year after a few broken ribs, but with more experience, dropped that. Went from a dot helmet to a non dot helmet, to cut the weight. So I sit here surfing the net looking for a new helmet and neck support after suffering a grade 1 concussion and whiplash on the final day of racing for the season. Im looking at about $500-$600 for the two pieces im after. A 661 flight 2 helmet and a Leatt brace. Is this overkill for 1 hard crash? Its been over 2 weeks since that crash, im still off work, have a headache 24/7 and cant sleep because of the neck pain. I start physio on Friday, and hopefully this will alieviate the headaches. So I ask again, is this overkill? NO FRIGGIN WAY!! Spend the money, dont be cheap, you have one body, so take care of it. Once things set in, I realized I could be typing this from my wheel chair........
